Description
I have always loved the festive lights of the Christmas season, but without a doubt one of the prettiest places I've seen during that time of the year was Old Quebec. There's just something about old world charm and snow that when draped in Christmas lights, it enters an off the chart level of pretty. And these were the sights that greeted me on my first evening in Quebec. I arrived after dark just before New Years and roamed the streets. And I was so cold, but the season warmed my soul enough to ward off the chill and enjoy seeing Vieux-Quebec with my eyes and capture its raw beauty with my camera.
Seen on these snow covered streets is the L'hotel du Vieux Quebec and Les Freres de la Cote Restaurant. This is part of the Haute-Ville or upper town in old Quebec. Old Quebec, founded in the 18th century, retains its city walls and historic charm. For this reason, Old Quebec is a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site.
