Description
I timed my visit to the Eiffel Tower better than I could have expected or honestly planned, Even in winter the lines to go up the tower were impressive. As you can see from this view of the Parisian skyline, however, it was dusk while I was visiting the famous Eiffel Tower. Even with an overcast sky, there's still a rich mix of dusk blue and violet hanging over the warm city lights! I personally love this color combination of gold and blue!
And in the foreground is the famous River Seine ablaze with lights! Not only do you see light trails from the moving cars on the city streets adjacent, I even managed to capture the light trails from boats in motion on the river. The effect is dramatic and in a way pays homage to Paris' appellation as the City of Light. Of course, the city of light reference came about long before electric illumination, stretching back to the age of enlightenment when the city was the cultural capital of that era.
Paris skyline at dusk... le sigh!
