Description
The difference between the weather on my first and second visits to the Salisbury plains was very nearly night and day. The skies over Stonehenge on that second visit were brooding to say the least.
As I stood there contemplating the view of that ancient stone circle, I got just a moment of light, not a dazzling light, but just enough for some color in those gray skies. The result was dramatic and not your every-day picture of that iconic stone circle.
It was such a fleeting light it almost felt like a gift from the spirits that may have been worshiped here at Stonehenge long ago. Flights of fantasy no doubt, but Stonehenge is a magical place is it not?
I dream of re-visiting Stonehenge again one day. I've been twice but I have no question if I lived nearby I'd go again and I'd visit the other ancient sites in that area and across Britain. I love to marvel at ancient mysteries even from across the pond.
