Description
I flew to Paris from a month in Ireland, and being winter it was no real surprise that bad weather delayed my fight. It was delayed so much that by the time I was able to see Paris for the first time, it was a city cloaked in darkness.
And even in the cold winter evening, as you can tell from this photo, it was very much a city of light, a city of people, alive and cast in a warm glow. It's funny that I only went out to get my orientation but some of the photos from this evening's walk along the Seine were my favorite of those short five nights. I was truly amazed by how beautiful Paris was. I mean, sure we've all seen photos of the iconic places, but even an otherwise nondescript row of buildings overlooking the Seine are incredibly Parisian, are they not? I really think I could share this photo with many peope and they'd definitely guess European and I suspect many would even zero in that this is Paris without a single major landmark in the photo.
This then is my epitome of a beautiful winter night in Paris.
