Description
There were so many beautiful little vignettes around Cambridge. Poke your head through a gateway or large door and you never quite know what you'll find, but it was usually strikingly beautiful!
Thus was the gate at Emmanuel College, better known to locals as Emma. The little courtyard at Emma almost felt like its own little world. I loved the alternating stripes in the green turf, complete with the groundskeeper's tools still at hand. Clearly I must have just missed someone tending to the grounds at Emmanuel College.
The cupola straight ahead is part of the Wren Chapel, an early design by the famous architect, Sir Christopher Wren who would go on to design many more buildings, perhaps most famously St. Paul's Cathedral in London. So much heritage packed into the buildings at Cambridge!
