On a aimless wander through the countryside of rural Georgia, I came across this beautiful rustic example of an old country store. Very occasionally you still find these old mom and pop shops open for business. And if they are they are almost always the center of some little rural community. But they are definitely a little bit of fading Americana. In the era of the automobile, most people will drive into the nearest town instead and these old buildings are just a reminder of an old way of life.
This one I suspect was the Crossroad Store. I say that because the old dirt road in front of it was named Crossroad Store Road. It sits in the countryside near Cordele, Georgia, in rural Crisp County.
