The purpose of this colorful Atlanta skyline art print was simply to do something fun! I know sometimes people have a picture of art being something serious and packed with meaning, and often that is the case. A lot of my work is done because the subject is special to me or reminds me of someone special. But sometimes it’s simply about having fun and creating something that I expect to bring a smile to people’s faces.
So it’s a gratifying experience every time someone purchases this colorful Atlanta skyline print – just knowing that someone out there had the same warm happy feeling as I did when they saw it. Most of the people purchasing my prints are unknown to me but every so often they’ll step forward from the shadows and I know that a large print of this colorful Atlanta skyline is hanging in an office building in Atlanta. Having worked in the stereotypical gray office building for many years, it delights me to imagine this particular print is bringing just a little color to what is too often a sterile and drab environment. Sounds like a lovely place to work doesn’t it?
The silhouette in this particular skyline view is downtown Atlanta as seen from the Jackson Street Bridge. There’s something truly monumental about the way the heart of Atlanta rises up into the skies. As a city I called home for a decade, this is personally the view I still think of as being Atlanta and it’s a city filled with lovely landmarks and beautiful neighborhoods with their own charm but the skyline is the central hub of the rest of it which is a fitting analogy considering the wheel like perimeter.
