About This Image

More than once while I was touring New York City, I heard it said that the one thing you couldn’t see from the Empire State Building, was, well, the Empire State Building. It’s hard to argue with that logic. And it’s also hard to imagine an iconic view of the New York City skyline that didn’t include that venerable skyscraper.

I was thrilled with how well my friends and I managed to time our trip to the Top of the Rock – the rooftop viewing platform on Rockefeller center, where you can see the Empire State Building rising above the skyline. We got to be there just in time to see the deep blue dusk skies that were such a great backdrop to see the city lights glowing golden and warm below. It was absolutely as magical as you see here..

The most famous building you can see reaching above this sea of golden lights is the Empire State Building with its familiar spire. It was lit up in blue that night which echoes the dusk sky a bit. Even looking back at these pictures from that visit, I’m in awe of New York City at night. This picture really brings home the amazing density of Manhattan and the vibrant feel of the city that never sleeps.

Even looking at this print years later, it reminds me of that child-like awe of seeing a Christmas tree lit-up when looking over the skyline of New York City. Don’t you agree? I felt it then and I still feel it now. New York city is truly a dazzling place when the sun goes down and the lights flare to life.

How Can I Help?

At the end of the day, it’s important to me that you can put a face with the art you’re considering purchasing through my site. Aside from the print vendor who ultimately prints and ships your order, this is a one man show. The person who made the art is the same one who is typing this message and the one who will answer your questions if you drop me a note.

You are not a number and I care that you are happy with whatever art you might buy here. I’m here if you’d like to ask questions before or after purchasing. And I’m also happy to work with you where possible to customize the work you’re buying. Maybe you’d like a tweak to the shape of a print to fit in with your existing wall art. Or you’d like to add a little nod to someone special in it? Just ask! I also keep a running list of subjects I don’t currently have but people are seeking. So if you enjoy the style of my work but didn’t find quite what you were looking for, please do let me know.

I’ve been an artist for 15 years now and most of that time it’s been my full-time passion. And it matters to both the endorphins in my brain and the food I put on the table for me (and my cats) that you find the experience of purchasing the products offered here to be a pleasure.
