About This Image

There was something truly haunting and beautiful about a cold winter day wandering the golden landscape of Culloden Moor. It was on the golden fields in this print that the last Jacobite rebellion came to a close in 1746. I wonder if I would have felt the echoes of that long ago battle had I not known the history of Culloden? Or would these moors simply be the beautiful landscape that it so clearly is?

Whether you’re into Scottish history or are simply a lover of beautiful British landscapes, I guess this scene from Culloden Moor covers the bases. Personally, I’ll always carry the stories we heard about that what happened at Culloden Moor. But I also look back at an extraordinarily sunny winter day. Just look at the golden orange of the light in the winter grasses of Culloden moor and those fantastic blue skies.

This print is a great illustration of the incredibly stark beauty of the Scottish Highlands. I’m sure that it doesn’t hurt to have Scottish ancestry to appreciate this print. At the same time, Culloden Moor was one of those simply gorgeous landscapes that people appreciate whether or not they’ve ever walked those far-away fields. This is the raw natural beauty that has brought people to Scotland by the busload for generations now. And it’s one of many reasons I want to return to capture and personally enjoy those vibrant landscapes at least once more.

My only fear of visiting the beautiful Scottish Highlands again is that I’m not so sure they could pry me out once I spent more than a couple of weeks in this amazing scenic place. In a sense, I’m haunted not by the things that happened in this place centuries ago but by the visually stunning place that I remember through my own artwork.

How Can I Help?

At the end of the day, it’s important to me that you can put a face with the art you’re considering purchasing through my site. Aside from the print vendor who ultimately prints and ships your order, this is a one man show. The person who made the art is the same one who is typing this message and the one who will answer your questions if you drop me a note.

You are not a number and I care that you are happy with whatever art you might buy here. I’m here if you’d like to ask questions before or after purchasing. And I’m also happy to work with you where possible to customize the work you’re buying. Maybe you’d like a tweak to the shape of a print to fit in with your existing wall art. Or you’d like to add a little nod to someone special in it? Just ask! I also keep a running list of subjects I don’t currently have but people are seeking. So if you enjoy the style of my work but didn’t find quite what you were looking for, please do let me know.

I’ve been an artist for 15 years now and most of that time it’s been my full-time passion. And it matters to both the endorphins in my brain and the food I put on the table for me (and my cats) that you find the experience of purchasing the products offered here to be a pleasure.
