Description
The title for this piece is a line from Shakespeare's play, As You Like It. It may seem a bit obvious but the legacy of Shakespeare is intimately connected with this beautiful seaside theater in Cornwall.
Minack Theater was the creation of Rowena Cade. Following a production of Midsummer Night's Dream that she hosted on her property in Cornwall, she began construction of her theater on the cliffs of Penzance. Decades of performances and seasons of building followed as Rowena's dream theater grew!
What an amazing legacy to leave behind! If you've stood on the stage there, you know how beautiful and magical the setting is. The only reason I regretted going to Cornwall in the off season was that I missed the opportunity to see a production staged here. Rowena may be gone, but her legacy to the arts in Cornwall will stand for years to come.
